Members identified as currently pregnant are automatically enrolled in the McLaren Miracles program. Members can become ineligible if they are incorrectly identified as being pregnant, are no longer an MHP member (termed/expired) or if the member chooses to opt out of the program. For questions or to opt out of this program, contact Customer Service toll free at 1-888-327-0671 (TTY: 711).

You may be eligible for FREE services through WIC. WIC is a program that serves low and middle income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 who have a nutrition-related health problem. To find out where WIC is available in your County, click here for a contact list. For more detailed information about the WIC program, click here to connect to the MDHHS website.

And most importantly, please do not smoke.

Smoking greatly increases the risk of other health problems. Secondhand smoke is also harmful. Quitting is hard. Each time you try to quit, the better chance you have of succeeding! If you smoke, ask your doctor about ways to quit. Call our toll free stop smoking hotline at (800) 784-8669. For additional resources on quitting, click here.

Prevent Maternal Mortality

More than 700 women die each year in the U.S. from pregnancy-related complications up to one year after giving birth. In Michigan, there are approximately 25 cases of pregnancy-related deaths each year. Of these deaths, approximately six out of every ten are preventable.

McLaren Health Plan is committed to making our members aware of the warning signs because the loss of one mother is one too many.
