McLaren Health Plan sponsors Allen Neighborhood Center to support Lansing’s Eastside | Crain's Detroit Business

With a shared commitment to serving communities like Lansing Eastside, McLaren Health Plan began supporting ANC’s programs in 2015—first, as a weekly sponsor of the farmers market, and then starting in 2020, as a sponsor of the Breadbasket program.

“ANC’s focus on the social determinants of health falls within McLaren Health Plan’s goals to serve those members better,” says Jeff Romback, vice president of strategic business operations at McLaren Health Plan. “It’s an opportunity for us to help them help the community, and it lets people in Lansing know that we’re not just here to pay a claim; we’re here to help you get well in meaningful ways.”

Most recently, McLaren Health Plan began sponsoring the Great Room inside ANC’s Lansing-based community center. This space, where the organization hosts its Breadbasket Food Pantry, farmers markets, and other workshops and meetings, now bears McLaren Health Plan's name—cementing the health system’s support of the programs held there.
