The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a ten bed unit serving multiple service lines including cardiology, medical, surgical, neurosurgery and trauma. The ICU is the highest level of care provided within McLaren Lapeer Region. Patients can expect close observation and utilization of the latest technology available. Our ICU is staffed with board certified physicians that have advanced training in critical care medicine. All of our critical care trained nursing staff have received speciality training in trauma (TCNN), as well as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). In addition, several members of our nursing team have furthered their training, to achieve the elite Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) status.
You have entrusted us with your care. It is for this reason we encourage family members to join us, as part of the Critical Care Team in daily multidisciplinary rounds. Our Multidisciplinary Rounding Team meets at 10 a.m. and consists of team members from various departments including Senior Leadership, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Dietary, Physical Therapy, Case Management, as well as Registered Nurses, Intensivists and other physician specialists. As a member of the Critical Care Multidisciplinary Rounding team, you will assist us in establishing a plan of care and setting daily goals. Your involvement is vital not only to ensure an exceptional hospital experience, but also toward a safe and timely discharge.
